Product Information

Is my furniture weather-proof?

We only deal with suppliers who offer products that are designed for outdoor use and who use high quality materials in the manufacture of these products. Timber furniture manufacturers use timber varieties selected to withstand the extremely dry W.A. climate without further special preparation. Resin products use the highest grade plastics which will not degrade in the sun. Most other furniture is based on aluminium frames which can never rust. Sling chairs use highly durable textmesh/textilene with built in UV stabilisers. Wicker products are made of synthetic P.E. (polyethylene) strands which incorporate top quality UV stabilisers to prevent fading and cracking. Padded slings use dacron fibre fillings rather than foam. Cushions come in a variety of coverings and fillings with varying degrees of water, mildew and fade reistance. Cushions should be stored in a dry ventilated place when not in use. Back to top.

What is the table top made of?

Most of our tables have tempered (toughened) safety glass. It is not unbreakable but has over three times the strength of the equivalent thickness of regular annealed glass. In the unlikely event of breakage the safety glass will shatter into tiny cube shaped fragments, rather than sharp shardes, so as to minimise the risk of injury. Other table top options include timber, tiles and granite. Back to top.

How do I care for my furniture?

Cushions: Always store cushions in a cool dry place when not in use. Clean regularly by brushing off crumbs and wiping down with warm water and a mild detergent. Hose out any soap residue. This is especially important in areas exposed to salt air, or with lots of trees, birds or pollution. Do not dry clean, machine wash or tumble dry.

Textmesh/textilene (sling and cushion fabric): When necessary wash with a mix of 1/2 cup of mild detergent and 1/2 cup of bleach in 6 litres of water. Hose thoroughly to remove residue. Do not use solvent type cleaners.

P.E. wicker: Brush off surface dust with a soft brush. Wash with soft brush in water and mild detergent. Hose thoroughly after washing. Do not use strong cleaning solutions. Back to top.

What warranty comes with my furniture?

Warranties vary from supplier to supplier and generally cover frames, slings, cushions, P.E. wicker strands and paintwork. Depending on the component and supplier they range from 1 to 5 years, except Weber barbeques which have warranties ranging from 5 years to lifetime. Please see the cards or labels attached to your furniture for full details. Back to top.

Do I need to assemble my furniture?

All tables and timber furniture come in flat-pack form to ensure safe transportation. This means some assembly is required. Tools and fixings for assembly are provided in most cases, usually consisting of screws and Allen keys. Assembly generally takes no longer than 30 minutes per item. Instructions are provided. It is recommended that timber furniture be oiled as soon as it is assembled.

All aluminium chairs come pre-assembled. Most sun-loungers come pre-assembled however some require partial assembly. Back to top.
